Nov 8, 2021Norfolk, VASubmitted by Staff
Summary
Critical-care physician Paul Marik sued Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in November 2021 after the hospital barred him from using ivermectin and other off-label treatments; he subsequently resigned.
Full report
Dr. Paul Marik, chief of pulmonary and critical care at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and FLCCC co-founder, filed suit in November 2021 alleging Sentara's prohibition on ivermectin, fluvoxamine, and high-dose vitamin C for COVID-19 patients violated Virginia's Patient Care Act. A Virginia court declined a preliminary injunction. Marik resigned from EVMS in late 2021 and continued FLCCC work. His medical license was later subject to Virginia Board of Medicine review over public statements.
